2027: DATES COMING SOON | COSTA BRAVA

A gentle retreat for (young) adults who are going through loss.

Retreat/
Love & Loss

A personal story turned into a collective dream

At 28, I lost one of my mothers. A year later, at 29, I lost the other. I was lucky enough to grow up with two mothers from the age of 7, my mother and my stepmother, who was just as much a mother to me. The two people who loved me and I loved most, unexpectedly gone within one year.

Even writing this doesn’t do justice to the experience or the feelings. I had books, art, poetry, friends and family, and yoga to help me through. And still, I have never felt more lonely and lost in my life. People around me were enjoying careers, buying houses, building families. Me? I carried on with daily life as best as I could. Externally it looked like I was doing well… In reality…

It’s been a long journey

I felt like life wasn’t really worth it anymore, and was desperate to find a way out of all this suffering. This is when I decided to sign up for Vipassana meditation. With the help of this meditation, combined with my steady yoga practice, I found moments of not feeling so broken. But I was longing for more, to share and ease this excruciating loneliness. I googled for retreats where I could simply show up as I am amongst like-minded people, but I couldn’t find anything that resonated. So the idea was born to create it myself, already in 2022. But to be honest, I wasn’t ready to host this kind of retreat yet. I was still too much in my own process.

But now, four years later, I am ready. To share what I’ve learned on grief and the cycle of life, and meeting other people who lost someone dear too early, who are still in the midsts of their own lives. I’ve also learned that loss and grief show up in many forms.

One step at a time

So here I am, starting to share this vision openly, without fixed dates yet. Just the wish to let others feel a little less alone in the process, and to give people the care and extra love they so deserve.

This idea is still taking shape, and I’m in the early stages of planning the first retreat for (young) adults who are going through loss and are looking for support. For the moment the aim is 2027, 3 days in beautiful Catalunya.

If this speaks to you, please leave your email below and I’ll keep you posted as it comes together. And if you know someone who might need this, even if it’s not you, feel free to pass it along. The more people who show interest now, the sooner I can make it real.

What to Expect

We’ll meet you where you are. This retreat is for anyone carrying grief in the body, the kind that can feel literal: an ache that sits right in the chest, a heaviness, a that holds what the mind can’t yet say. Grief shows up in more places than we expect, and yoga has a way of reaching those places gently.

with care
A small group coming together under guidance, where comfort comes first. This retreat is a supportive space, not a replacement for therapy or medical treatment.

❋ We’ll meet you where you are

You choose. How to spend your time, all activities are optional, and you can always choose to opt-in or opt-out of any activity at any given time. There’s no right or wrong way to grief and to heal.

❋ Gentle Movement

All yoga is designed to process grief which is in the body. You can expect slow, restorative practices, and no experience is needed. Do not expect overly spiritual language neither, grief can be raw and we do not sugar coat with silver linings to begin with.

❋ Shared Understanding

Time with others who know loss first hand. You can share stories, questions and doubts, as much or as little as you like. Without using words, you already know others are part of the club as well.

❋ A Supportive Space

Comfort food, long stretches of unscheduled time, a bed you’re welcome to disappear into for as many hours as you need, and the option of a massage if your body is asking for one.
